Mezcal In Oaxaca

In 2015, I was able to travel to Oaxaca and experience one of my favorite spirits. At this point, I was more knowledgeable about tequila but mezcal was still new territory. I spent a few days on my own in Oaxaca City exploring places like In Situ and Mezcaloteca. I then met up with a group of people from all corners of the planet. We spent a couple of days with Mezcal Tosba walking through the distillation process for a pechuga. After our time with Mezcal Tosba we traveled to Felix Angeles palenque for some uncertified mezcal (his stuff is pure and honest mezcal), Mezcal Real Minero, Mezcal Real Matlatl and Mal De Amor. This trip ranks up at the top of my travels for all the people I met along the way and the immersive learning experience I received.
